getset
digital marketing manager | online mentorship services
GetSet is a Canadian online community and mentorship service that connects mentors and career consultants with students, employees, and newcomers to Canada. Members create an account, then choose a mentor and book a thirty-minute personalized discussion with them to explore their education and career goals, review their résumé and applications, prepare them for job interviews and workplace culture, and so on. GetSet’s aim is to provide the guidance, direction, and support that people need to be successful in Canada.
I started at GetSet as a sales & marketing intern for six months, with my primary focus being marketing, then went on to be GetSet’s digital marketing manager for eight months on a part-time basis before eventually leaving my role to focus on my full-time position at 3 tier logic. During this time, I developed and managed several marketing initiatives, increased GetSet’s branding efforts and social media presence, and supported GetSet’s small team of four while working on building my skills in email marketing, content creation, and article writing.
During my time at GetSet, both as a sales & marketing intern and a digital marketing manager, my tasks consisted of the following:
Developing and managing marketing strategies and GetSet’s content calendar
Creating content for social channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook)
Creating video content for YouTube and Instagram Reels
Designing the framework for a new company website
Writing informative articles for mentor, consultant, and user audiences
Designing and managing email campaigns and landing pages
Researching marketing strategies for lead generation and customer acquisition
Researching social media trends, content ideas, and event opportunities
Some highlights include: increasing GetSet’s content output and social media engagement by ~30%, building email automations and workflows that increased the team’s efficiency and improved client/user relationships, and designing and managing monthly newsletter campaigns with an average open rate of ~35%.
